El régimen franquista se apuntó un tanto propagandístico con las visitas, en mayo de 1961, del ministro británico del Interior, Richard Butler y la posterior del ministro de Exteriores Lord Home. La Vanguardia la cubrió con amplios reportajes los días 23, 24, 25, 28 y 30.
