Last night a Spanish nationalist candidate said it was lucky the Spanish police were kind and sensitive enough to remove two-year-olds from the shoulders of parents before beating the hell out them with their batons and shields, at the doors of the polling station in Sant Julià de Ramis, before the amazed and shocked foreign journalists covering the vote there.
