Dear Sirs,
I have read with some concern that executives from the ECB Frankfurt head office have put pressure on the six main Spanish banks operating in Catalonia.
As a citizen and also as a shareholder and customer of several of these banks, I believe I have the right to receive detailed information regarding the content of these phone calls.
Please forward this request to the relevant Department.
Were this information to prove to be unfounded, please tell me what steps you are taking to ensure the newspaper makes a public rectification.
I thank you in advance for your reply.
Yours sincerely,
M. Strubell

Dear Mr Strubell,
Further to your e-mail of 1 November 2015, we would like to inform you that the European Central Bank (ECB) does not interfere with internal political discussions of EU member states. More specifically, the ECB did not contact Spanish banks on this issue.
Yours sincerely,
Christine Haas
